Trans Am Nationals - 21st Annual
Trans Am Club of America - Dayton, Ohio Chapter
Dayton, Ohio

Dayton, Ohio is more commonly known as the birthplace of aviation.  You know.  The hometown of two guys that figured out how to hang an engine from a glider (Wilbur and Orville).    Consequently, Dayton also became the home of the very first airport in the world and soon their afterwards came the Army Air Corps to Wright Field and they turned into the United States Air Force in 1946.   That explains how Wright-Patterson air force museum at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base came into being.    But I digress.....

Dayton, Ohio, in Pontiac circles is the home of the largest Firebird show in the country.   Each year at the airport Dayton Inn, oh, about 300 to 400 Firebirds of all four generations gather for a sensory overload of all birds of a feather.     Most are Firebird Trans Ams but the Firebird Formulas and base Firebirds are not far behind.     On Saturday evening the entire event transfers itself to the historic downtown of Tippecanoe, OH  where it seems they multiply into 600 Firebirds to fill every main and side street of the picturesque town.

Here are some of the 300 pictures we shot.    They just don't do the show justice so next August 2006 go out of your way and get some Firebird sensory overload of your own.
